Final W3Jekyll Schedule Announced



JEKYLL ISLAND, GA (April 6, 2016) – Jekyll Island will be soon showcasing an esteemed group of masters from all walks of life April 22 – 24, 2016 – from master distillers, master chefs, master wildlife researchers and famous pitmasters, to Georgia’s only Master Sommelier, Michael McNeill. The inaugural event features an impressive list of talent including: Ron Eyester and Kenny Gilbert, from Bravo’s “Top Chef”, Laura Lyn Carter, GPB TV host, five master distillers and some of the Golden Isles’ best culinary, including Southern Soul Barbecue, Halyards, The Farmer & The Larder, Sea Island Resorts, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, The Westin Jekyll Island and a group of renowned southern chefs from Atlanta, Savannah, Jacksonville and Charleston, http://www.whiskeywineandwildlife.com/talent.html

Attendees can expect to receive a Glencairn crystal souvenir glass to sip and savor unlimited tastings of great whiskey, spirits, wine and beer – savor culinary delights and enjoy some great music, all oceanfront and inclusive with admission ticket. The W3 events take place with breathtaking background views of the Atlantic Ocean from the Jekyll Island Beach Village and The Westin Jekyll Island.

Friday, April 22: “Whiskey Inspired”: 7 – 10 pm

The Westin Jekyll Island – The Reserve Restaurant and Oceanfront Lawn

The-Reserve-Outdoor-SeatingEnjoy whiskeys, wines and beers, along with a showcase of whiskey inspired classic cocktails and culinary delights. All tastings will be whiskey inspired – from savory, to decadent sweets! Some of the South’s leading, award-winning celebrity chefs and renowned Golden Isles and Lowcountry superstars will be showcasing their special recipes. The beautiful, Westin Jekyll Island provides the perfect backdrop for an al fresco evening, oceanfront under the stars with the live music, from local trio, the Three Little Birds band. A very special live and silent auction will also take place benefiting the Jekyll Island Foundation:


  • Live Auction with 6 – 8 luxury items at 8:30 pm
  • Blind & Silent Auction (auction bidding will close at 9:30 pm): This will be a fun “Wine-Pull”, with a chance to pull a numbered, $20 cork or pull 2 corks for $30, for a guaranteed minimum $15 bottle of wine – with several $100+ bottles included. A full list of all wines in the Wine Pull will be provided at the Blind & Silent Auction. There will also be a “Whiskey Pull” available, $25 each or two for $40, with some a wide variety of whiskies available from a minimum, $25 to $100+ in value.

An afternoon of exceptional beverage and culinary tastings from some of the South’s leading chefs and coastal favorites, great music from the Briteside Band and an opportunity to experience Jekyll Island’s native wildlife up close, from turtles to alligators! Celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, cookbook author signings, wildlife demonstrations and great beverage panel discussions/tastings will take place on several stages:

Whiskey, Wine & Wildlife – W3, a new spring culinary event on Jekyll Island, Georgia, blends gourmands with nature and nurture, April 22 – 24, 2016. W3 artfully combines legendary beverage tastings of all kinds – from all types of spirits, beers, whiskies and wines, along with inspired cuisine from some of the South’s best chefs and local culinary superstars, with a chance to experience coastal wildlife up-close. The weekend’s events will raise funds and awareness for programs of the Jekyll Island Foundation, with the island’s research and education experts on-hand Friday and Saturday, showcasing some fun, interactive programs with coastal wildlife, from turtles to alligators.
